Complete mechanical and electrical design for this housing estate located off the residential area of Cunningham Road in Dalkey, Co Dublin. Services provided included underfloor heating in selected houses with radiators in the remaining units, gas installations, mechanical ventilation and heat recovery installations, plumbing installations, soils and wastes installations, complete lighting and electrical design including IT infrastructure. This project involves the refurbishment No 66 Mountjoy Square and the creation of 5No apartments as well as the construction of 2No mews dwellings at the rear of the property accessed by a laneway. Features of the project include a district heating and hot water installation, extensive emergency lighting and fire alarm installations, extract ventilation installations which required innovative solutions due to the listed nature of the building. The Mews houses at the rear are to be served by air source heat pumps supplying column type radiators to suit the design of the building. Noise abatement is an important part of the project with external plant operating in a residential location. The site is bounded on both sides by properties and a narrow laneway is located at the rear of the site.
